GOV/JOBS \*\* The City of Roanoke is seeking a Procurement Technician to perform clerical and technical work involving the procurement of goods and services required for the daily operation of the City of Roanoke.
The successful candidate will maintain solicitation files, bids, proposals, and quotes from vendors; conduct public bid openings from formal solicitation processes; assist the general public with inquiries; prepare newspaper advertisements for formal solicitations; assist internal financial system users with inquiries, and receive, review, and process certificates of insurance for vendor contract files.
They will also research, verify, and reconcile department invoices prior to payment; maintain all receipts, purchasing logs, and monthly invoices for department purchasing cards (p-cards); distribute P-cards to City employees and maintains P-card account information; maintain City purchase order files; provide information on doing business with the City to vendors; enter and balance payroll on time entry system and provide administrative support to the Director of General Services.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training in general office work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Examples of Duties:*SUMMARY * Performs clerical and technical work involving the procurement of goods and services for the daily operation of the City of Roanoke.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following.

Maintains solicitation files, bids, proposals, and quotes from vendors Conducts public bid openings for formal solicitation processes Assists the general public with inquiries Prepares newspaper advertisements for formal solicitations Posts solicitation, tabulation, and award documents to the City web page Assists internal financial system users with inquiries related to procurement transactions Receives, reviews, and processes certificates of insurance for vendor contract files Researches, verifies, and reconciles department invoices prior to making payment Maintains all receipts, purchasing logs, and monthly invoices for purchasing cards (P-cards) Distributes p-cards to City employees and updates account information in the P-card system Maintains purchase order files Provides vendors with information on doing business with the City of Roanoke Enters and balances payroll on time entry system Provide administrative support to Director of General Services Other duties as assigned *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
