We are seeking to hire an on-site (full-time) *Patient Care Coordinator *for the clinic in Roanoke, VA.
This clinic has a talented team that focuses on the highest level of patient care.
In this role, the candidate will facilitate an excellent patient experience by providing the highest level of customer service to patients and their family members, other healthcare entities, and fellow employees both in-person and over the phone.
This role is responsible for activities associated with administrative operations.
*Core Responsibilities:*
* Answers incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner, promptly responding to requests and inquiries or directing/triaging calls for clinical personnel
* Greets patients and visitors in a welcoming and helpful manner
* Obtains patient demographic information and accurately enters and updates EHR
* Schedules patient appointments and ensures that all required follow-up is complete
* Confirms future appointments following established guidelines
* Performs pre-visit chart audit reviewing for required documents and plan of care requirements
* Explains insurance requirements (prescription, PCP appointment, delivery receipts, etc.
) to patients and families and tracks to completion making follow-up outreach as needed
* Collects documentation and patient payments as determined by Central Billing Office
* Documents all patient related activity in EHR in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner
* Opens and distributes incoming mail
* Attends and participates in daily and weekly meetings
* Assists in marketing efforts to build relationships with local referral sources
* Performs other duties as assigned
*Skills, Knowledge and* *Qualifications:*
* High School Diploma or GED
* One - two years of medical office experience working directly with patients
* EHR/EMR experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with patients, physicians, and coworkers in a tactful, informed and service-oriented manner
* Ability to prioritize workload and manage required follow-up communications
