gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Department of Environmental Quality Blue Ridge Regional Office is seeking a qualified person to serve as Technical Reviewer - Tank Remediation.
The person in this program leadership position will oversee the work of and assist other tank remediation staff in mentoring and planning and implementing the tank remediation program.
In addition, this position will also perform work on varied, complex sites independently.
Position will manage the remediation of petroleum contaminated sites through technical and administrative oversight to ensure that the sites are remediated to appropriate risk-based levels.
Work with responsible parties to resolve issues efficiently, openly, fairly, and consistently.
Minimum Qualifications Experience concerning team leadership and project and program management.
Knowledge of federal/state/local laws and regulation governing petroleum releases.
Soil, vapor, and ground water pollution assessment.
Soil, vapor, and ground water remediation.
Ground water computer modeling.
Hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, environmental science, and engineering.
Oral and written communications.
PC database operations.
Valid driver’s license required to operate state owned vehicle.
Must complete (bi-annually) VA State and Local Conflict of Interest Act training.
Work experience demonstrating strong work ethic and independent work skills.
Additional Considerations A combination of training and experience or successful course work, preferably in an environmental science or engineering curricula.
Experience with geology, environmental engineering, or related sciences and/or equivalent work experience.
