*Duties*
*-* Communicate with Administrator and billing team to ensure workflows are being followed and work is being completed.
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies or government healthcare programs
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries or disputes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
*Experience*
-Familiarity with Gastroenterology *strongly preferred*
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in medical billing or related field
- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing software.
gGastro/gMed EMR Experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical collection systems and processes is required
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and documentation requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
