Position Summary:

Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department and control all established quality assurance standards.
Support day-to-day functions of the department operations.

Essential Job Functions: * Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
* Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
* Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet and exceed targets through collaboration and teamwork.
* Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
* Train and develop associates on job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
* Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, company guidelines, food safety regulations, compliance with all country of origin labeling and regulations, prepare foods according to the food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
* Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department/store, and offering product samples to help customers discover new products.
* Provide customers with fresh/frozen products ordered and the correct portion size (as close as possible to amount ordered) to prevent shrink; cut meats to customers’ requests using proper cutting equipment.
* Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales/merchandising supervisor.
* Inform and educate associates and customers on meat promotions by staying current with present, future, seasonal and special ads and implementing the period department promotional plan in partnership with management.
* Assist management in preparing the department budget, expense control, profit/loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports.
* Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
* Plan and organize inventory process, maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, note any discrepancies, train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
* Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
* Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, notifying store management of customer or employee accidents, practicing preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment, and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
* Report all safety risks, or issues and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
