About Shrewd Outdoors
● Shrewd Outdoors is a 6,600 square foot retail store scheduled to open in July of 2024 in downtown Salem, VA.
Shrewd Outdoors will specialize in high end competition and archery equipment along with similarly oriented outdoor gear.
Shrewd Outdoors will include a handicap accessible 6,000 square foot indoor archery range available for tournaments, lessons and league nights.
Position Overview
● Oversee the sales, staff, merchandising, and branding functions of the store to provide an outstanding customer experience and attain profitability.
● Monitor and maintain inventory levels.
● Maintain and model high retail merchandising and cleanliness standards set forth by the store.
● Recruit and maintain a quality core staff.
● Evaluate sales trends and build methods for sales growth.
● Demonstrate and enforce company policies, guidelines, values and ethics.
● Lead the onboarding and training of new employees in POS, product knowledge, guest service and sales.
● Maintaining and updating store displays and merchandising areas.
Required Skills/Experience
● 2 years of retail experience.
● Supervisory experience in a retail environment.
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Familiarity with retail POS systems.
● Computer skills required (inventory management, email, Microsoft Office).
● Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights, holidays and weekends.
● Possess the desire to offer the highest customer service standards to guests.
● Ability to lift 40+ pounds
