Job Summary and Qualifications The Market Communications and Community Engagement Director (Market Director) reports directly to the Division AVP Strategic Communications with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the hospital CEOs in their market and Division AVP, Community Engagement.
The Market Director plays a critical role identifying opportunities to scale and streamline communications and community engagement activities across the market, as well as serving as the lead communicator/ spokesperson both internally and externally.
Responsibilities Bridges enterprise brand narrative with market/hospital brand to highlight the value of being part of the broader organization.
Ensures cohesion of this narrative across all facilities within the market.
Supports development and implementation of market oriented strategic PR and Communications plans to meet organizational needs and support hospital business and growth goals.
Manages crisis communications and serves as an on-call public information representative.
Serves as a conduit to communicate enterprise, group, division, and market community engagement strategies to facility leadership.
Identifies meaningful healthcare-related community engagement activities in the market’s service area that complement the organization’s goals.
Supports and coordinates events and programs in coordination with the Division and hospital goals and designed to raise awareness of the submarket’s capabilities and strengths.
Provides facility insights to feed division/regional marketing plans, including access to service line leaders, subject matter experts and other key leaders.
Act in supportive role for marketing tactics applicable to Physician & Provider Relations/Physician Service Group needs.
Partner with the Marketing Services Organization to develop content (includes web and social content) and manage hospital collateral items such as fliers, brochures, rack cards, etc.

Other duties as assigned in alignment with Marketing and Corporate Affairs strategies and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree required 1+ year(s) of experience in a management role required 5+ years of experience in a related position/field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for a variety of internal and external audiences.
Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and exhibit sensitivity to politics among departments, organizations and partners.
Maintains a professional approach to confidential information.
Must be sensitive to political, cultural and legal issues affecting hospital system operations.
Demonstrates openness to learning and gathering many perspectives in order to navigate complex systems and adapt frequently.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
