JOB SUMMARY:
This position visits customers and prospective customers to sell and take orders for feed, fertilizer, seed, farm supplies, hardware and other products and services.
Specializes in either feed, agronomy, or industrial sales.
This position reports to the Agronomy Division Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs field work to solicit sales from customers in areas and commodities assigned.
Responsible for coordinating sales efforts, prospect lists, pricing and availability of products, delivery schedules and credit.
Attends meetings within their sales area which offer an opportunity for sales and improved public relations.
Provides technical service and recommendations to customers.
Handles customer complaints and concerns.
Maintains records and reports of visits to customers and prospects.
Maintains and regularly updates prospect lists.
Turns in weekly field work report and expense voucher to manager.
Organizes, conducts, and assists in conducting commodity meetings.
Is familiar with credit policy and is prepared to administer it with customers and prospective customers.
Maintains and updated list of prospects, theirs needs and visits.
Set strategic direction, maintain budget, and manage all assigned accounts.
Attend store meetings, training sessions, and read trade magazines and manufacturers
literature to gain new product knowledge.
Assist in the coordination of deliveries.
Ability to lift to 100lbs, also requires climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling frequently.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
Must have at least two years AG experience.

Excellent communication, organizational and follow-up skills.

Proficient computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Must be able to travel up to 80% of the week; may also include overnight travel for events and
tradeshows.
