About this opportunity:
Plans, develops, administers, leads, and directs the Development Department for the Roanoke Corps operations which includes: Donor Services, Marketing & Public Relations, Major Gifts (individuals, corporations and foundations), Volunteers, Special Events and Fundraising; Directs the selection, training, and supervision of all staff responsible for performing the daily operational duties of the Development Department; Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates a variety of resource development strategies; Ensures the highest level of quality in ongoing donor solicitation and recognition programs; Monitors and ensures the financial resources for facilities and programs are available to meet the growing need of the consumers that The Salvation Army serves.
There is an annual fundraising goal which is established each year in collaboration with the Commanding Officer and approved by the Divisional Finance Board.
An addendum will be provided annually prior to the incumbent's annual performance review.
What we are looking for in you:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field and ten years experience in a comprehensive development program with progressively responsible experience and demonstrated success in major gifts fundraising.
• Or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.
).
Duties are usually performed seated.
Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Working Conditions
Work may be performed in a normal office environment within a climate-controlled structure.
There are little, or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt.
