Do you want to be a part of strengthening communities by encouraging and educating others about how to be healthy and resilient? The Media Design Prevention Specialist 2 plans, implements, documents, and evaluates substance abuse and/or mental health promotion services through developing and maintaining websites and social media for 6 local coalitions and the Family Wellness program.
The focus will be the development and management of media that support environmental strategies which help decrease substance abuse and other risky behaviors, while strengthening protective factors.
This position is Full Time and is grant-funded.
Prevention Specialists use effective prevention concepts, best practices, and strategies in media design and messaging to reduce substance abuse and promote positive mental health.
They develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with multiple community and organizational partners.
They utilize a variety of best practices, evidence-based programs, and other strategies to develop and implement prevention plans to reduce substance abuse community-wide.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in social media and website design.
Entry level experience in Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs prevention/education or related field and knowledge of the effects of substance abuse on children, adolescents and/or young adults and families.
Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft environment, including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Windows, and Outlook.
Experience with Zoom, Google Analytics, Canva/design software, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
Proficient knowledge of tools and platforms for website design and social media and experience in marketing and communications.
Must be skilled at developing rapport with other organizations and staff and maintaining working relationships that support the implementation of prevention wellness services.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have skills in media design, campaign development, photography, filming.
Exceptional organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, multiple deadlines and scheduling conflicts and the ability to implement numerous projects simultaneously.
Ability to work autonomously, assess and manage situations quickly and effectively in the best interest of partner agencies and BRBH.
Clear understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Knowledge and understanding of data collection, evaluation processes, and reporting outcomes.
