STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Sales Counselor is responsible for representing the community to prospective residents and families.
The Sales Counselor manages the occupancy process from the time of first inquiry through the move-in process.
The Sales Counselor provides direct assistance to the Sales and Marketing Director in all aspects of the marketing process.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manages the sales process from first inquiry to receipt of deposit, to eventual move-in
Collaborates with the prospective resident, family members and key influencers (physician, attorney, trust officer, as appropriate) to facilitate a timely and beneficial commitment to the community
Responsible for the professional handling of all incoming inquiries via telephone, email, or in person
Manages all information relating to the prospective resident/inquiry: communication with administration, communication with direct supervisor and accurate documentation of all contact in the Leads Management System (Yardi)
Promotes the occupancy process through ongoing contact with a prospective resident via telephone, personal visits, tours and home visit activities as appropriate
Utilize all sales resource tools as approved by Harmony Senior Services
Fully understands and articulately communicates all aspects of documents related to residency, including required admission documents, leases, etc.
Assists with all other marketing efforts as directed by the Sales and Marketing Director

Associates or Bachelor's degree highly desired
Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with both large and small groups
Strong interpersonal skills are essential
At least one-year experience in comparable marketing environment is preferred; education or experience in marketing, public relations, promotions or sales is desirable
Must have a broad knowledge of the aging process and the needs of a senior population
Must have the ability to work independently and be a self-starter
Must possess strong computer software skills, including Microsoft Office
Must represent HSS in a professional manner and wear professional attire at all times while at work
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and complete established sales/marketing goals in a timely manner
Ability and desire to establish relationships and connections with prospective residents and their families
Ability to analyze discovery data and develop "next-step" strategies for potential prospects
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends
Ability to work flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends
Must be able to walk long distances, lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs.
