The Process Engineer provides technical support and coordination between Voyant Beauty customers, internal R&D and plant operations during new product launches and restages, beginning with feasibility activities and ending with first production batch.
Responsibilities:
• Verify formula reproducibility before initial production run with lab scale up.
with the scale up of approved formulations in the R&D laboratory for stability, safety, sales samples, or package compatibility testing.
During the execution of the 3-10 kg batching process goal is to optimize batching process for manufacturing with identification of critical processing parameters and key visual indicators.
• Transcription of the defined R&D batching process for bulk manufacturing.
Identifying and mixing vessels and compounding equipment needed for commercial scale up.
• Capable of independent work in a laboratory setting: process development, characterization, maintaining proper records, complying with internal quality control and safety requirements.

• Conduct activities that coordinate and support the ‘Right First Time” quality control measures.
• Assist in the transfer and scale up of new formulas from R&D to compounding
• Review formulas with chemists, author manufacturing procedures to optimize production of the formula, maintain the quality and aesthetics desired, and ensure batch to batch consistency.
• Collect production data (ex.
mixing times and speeds, transfer, and fill temperatures) and apply standard methods to analyze, document and diagram production processes.
• Participate in pre-pilot and post-pilot production meetings.
