*What does a *_*day-in-the-life*_ *look like?*
To maintain the maximum possible uptime for the facility, ensure users have the support and equipment needed for their work, and to maintain the IT infrastructure of the plant.
This also includes OS updates, software improvements, and malware security.
*What does success look like?*
* Take care of IT user requests and incidents within the plant
* Participate in projects related to plant core activities (commercial vehicle frame manufacture) from the IT side.
* Handle imaging of new computers and deliver them to users.
* Conduct capacity analysis of the current infrastructure
* Assist in the renovation of the current infrastructure.
* Act as a Data Center Guardian, reporting infrastructure needs and performance to a central Data Center team.
* Assist in changing backup tapes.
* Troubleshoot connectivity issues and complex manufacturing applications from a Field Support perspective (including hardwire connections, wireless connections, and Windows server shared folder permissions)
* Basic code development knowledge
* Provide IT desktop and mobile phones support.
* Knowledge of Java and browser compatibility
* Troubleshoot Cisco AnyConnect client.
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products and troubleshooting
* Manage vendors and contractors for projects.
* General Knowledge of manufacturing-specific applications and systems used in the production of commercial vehicle frames.
* Familiarity with industrial automation systems and equipment
* Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
* Understanding of networking principles and protocols
*What you will bring:*
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
* Certification in relevant IT fields such as network administration, system administration, or IT support
* Experience in supporting manufacturing or industrial environments.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
* Availability to work in Metalsa Roanoke Facility
* 8-hour shifts ending at 6 pm from Monday to Friday and Availability to Works on weekends
