Summary:
The EMRA Manager (Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Automation) is responsible for strategic planning, execution and overall performance of the EMRA organization, budgets, and processes.
This position also manages the day-to-day formation of a reliability centric application of methods and practices that preserves asset life and works towards achieving no function losses for achieving and exceeding Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety targets.
• Develop a comprehensive Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation strategic plan for the department.
• Develop an integrated organization utilizing roles in various competencies that together ensure maintenance and reliability success.
• Liaise with operations group to coordinate strategies in support of operations.
• Inspect and/or review procedures, practices, and areas for identifying opportunities to reduce waste.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments (Ops, R&D, Supply Chain, etc.
) to ensure operational effectiveness, life cycle cost effectiveness and responsible MRO procurement activities.
• Conduct regularly scheduled team and individual strategy and performance management discussions.
• Ensure governance of all procedures, regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ensure the proper use of the CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management System) as the workflow tool and equipment history database.
• Analyze Key Performance Metrics to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean-Time-Between-Failures, and maintenance related costs.
• Accountable for development of the full scope of capital project management, including budgeting and technical support.
• Recommend scope of projects, specify, and manage installation of new equipment, rebuilds, retrofit replacement; and follow up to ensure overall success against projects costs, specifications and reliability
• Request RFPs and approve specifications, designs, and quotations against acceptable and applicable standards
• Identify and evaluate operating problems, recommend, engineer, develop and implement solutions for productivity and quality improvements
• Provide resources to operations and maintenance in terms of mechanical, electrical, industrial and environmental engineering services
• Establish a work environment in which solicitation of assistance from the EMRA organization to resolve operational obstacles is welcomed and encouraged
• Lead and participate in long range budget planning to realize benefits of more modern manufacturing techniques, environmental compliance and safety
• Is responsible for overall environmental compliance, establishing guidelines, policies, and programs
• Develop and maintain open communications within area of responsibility and supported departments
• Develop, conduct and/or obtain required training of plant personnel to comply with FDA, EPA and OSHA regulations
• Participate in all plant audits with Risk Assessment insurers, and is instrumental in closing out open recommendations following an engineering review
• Work to ensure close coordination between operations, maintenance and engineering to ensure prompt and proper diagnosis of equipment failures and minimize downtime
• Conduct all supervisory responsibilities associated with hiring, training, counseling, disciplining, assigning/prioritizing tasks for subordinates, and terminations as needed
• Provide the leadership, training and support necessary for the implementation of development projects
• Foster innovation and equipment reliability systems to benefit and increase productivity and quality of product

• PC skills – ERP & CMMS fluency (preferred but not required), Excel, Word, Outlook

• Knowledge of reliability sciences used for predictive and preventive activities
