The A&P Mechanic will be required to maintain a Bell 205 A1++ in accordance with FAA, Bell and USFS contract requirements.
The mechanic must be able to meet USFS requirements as an A&P mechanic to include, but not limited to the following requirements: 1) The mechanic shall have been actively engaged in aircraft maintenance as a certificated mechanic for at least 18-months out of the last 24-months; and meet one of the following criteria:(i) The mechanic shall hold a valid FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and power plant ratings and shall have held the certificate for a period of24-months.
(ii) The mechanic shall hold a valid FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and power plant ratings and shall have held the certificate for a period of 12months and the mechanic must show evidence of Four years military experience of aircraft maintenance training and qualification as a Technical Inspector (30 Level USA, 7 Level USAF, CDI or QAR USMC/USN, etc.
)for Airframe or Power Plants.
(iii) The mechanic shall hold a valid FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and power plant ratings and shall have held the certificate for a period of 12 months and the mechanic shall show evidence of holding foreign equivalent with both ratings for a period of 24 months.
(2) The mechanic shall have 12-months experience as an Airframe & Power Plant(A&P) mechanic or foreign equivalent in maintaining helicopters.
Three months experience shall have been in the last 2 years.
(3) The mechanic shall show evidence of maintaining a helicopter of the same make and model as offered:(i) Under "field" conditions for at least three months.
(ii) This requirement can be met by maintaining a helicopter away from the operator’s Principal Base of Operations, while under minimal supervision.
(4) Mechanics shall show evidence of meeting at least one of the following on a helicopter of the same make and model offered:(i) Satisfactorily completed a manufacturer's maintenance course(ii) Satisfactorily completed a USFS approved Contractor's training program(iii) The mechanic has 12-months maintenance experience In addition, the mechanic must train and pass Summit Helicopters INC, Corporate, SMS, AAIP and other procedural instructions.
This position could lead to a full-time position.
*Primary Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to:* * Must ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with the Airworthiness Standards prescribed by applicable Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Standard Practice.
* Complete routine and non-routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on rotorcraft airframes, engines and flight controls.
* Must have an in-depth knowledge of using aircraft technical publications with the ability to read and interpret basic schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts.
* Able to demonstrate basic sheet metal functions such as drilling, riveting, installing hi-locks, cherry max fasteners, making and installing panels and skin patches.
*Required skills/Abilities:* * Current, valid A&P license with verifiable experience with rotorcraft-minimum 2 years.
* Must be able to exercise good judgement in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety.
* Sheet metal repairs and electrical troubleshooting are a plus.
* Must be able to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals.
* Excellent communication and people skills.
* Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels.
* Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Must be able to lift and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
* Must be a US citizen with a valid Driver’s License.
* Must have a high school diploma, or GED.
* Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA.
regulated drug/alcohol tests prior to start.
Will be enrolled in our random drug pool.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $300.
