*Job Summary*
As a Kaizen Fabricator in our Technical department, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment and tooling within our plant.
Your daily focus will primarily involve welding and brazing various types of metal, as well as machining, turning, and grinding various parts for improvement projects.
Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints, along with updating existing documentation as modifications occur.
This position reports directly to the manager of the Technical department.
*Duties*
* Drive daily continuous improvement processes that involve all employees (standard goal of all in the Kaizen team).
* Repair induction heat coils, including brazing damaged copper water lines and adjusting bent coils.
* Weld damaged or broken production equipment parts using various welding methods (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW) on different metals (steel, stainless steel, sheet metal, titanium and aluminum).
* Review projects, create material and tooling lists, and actively participate in fabrication activities.
* Collaborate with engineers to develop creative design solutions to mechanical and technical problems.
* Inspect and test machinery and equipment, adhering to all preventative maintenance schedules.
* Support the Maintenance department in rebuilding and preventive maintenance activities requiring fabrication.
* Operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, torches, plasma cutters and other cutting and grinding equipment.
* Communicate effectively with co-workers, report machinery or equipment problems to managers/supervisors.
* Dismantle defective machines, install new or repaired parts, and conduct basic system alarms resetting.
* Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety procedures and policies.
* Participate in Quality Management and Environmental Management systems, supporting continual improvement initiatives.
* Work overtime as required to meet customer demands.
*Experience*
* Previous experience as a Fabricator or in a similar role
* - Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation
* - Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
* - Familiarity with using a micrometer for precision
* - Welding experience using various techniques
* - Experience working with sheet metal is a plus
