The Position: Continuous Improvement Manager

Duties & Responsibilities
Deploys and implements Lean and world-class methodologies in departmental team projects that are aimed at continuously improving operational, quality, and safety processes while eliminating non-value-add processes to reduce cost.
Conducts Kaizen events and Lean training in pilot areas and other specific plant functions.
Maintains lean implementation schedules for assigned projects, progress updates as required, and most importantly, provides documentation that demonstrates the direct link between lean implementation and direct process improvement and plant operations.
Assist leadership with the Transformation plan.
Participates in and coaches teams on problem-solving aimed at the resolution of value stream issues and concerns.
Interfaces with cross-functional teams on projects addressing quality, material and information flow, and capacity issues.
Generates provides and participates in lean training.
Where necessary, identifies and purchases equipment and supplies to address process and production issues.
Assists in the development and tracking of lean metrics.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
7+ years’ experience in a lean manufacturing environment with a record of proven accomplishments
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and AutoCAD
Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment
Measurable degree of six-sigma training or exposure to methodology
Must have experience in identifying areas of improvement, and planning for and leading Kaizen events
Independent thought, good judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects are a must
Must be self-motivated requiring little to no supervision
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Working conditions
