We are now hiring a Plant Supervisor in the Roanoke, VA office.
The Plant Supervisor will supervise production and distribution operations by performing the following duties personally and through subordinates.
This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Supervises production personnel who include warehouse operations and warehouse personnel, tank farm, flam pad and acid pad operations and personnel.
Supervises maintenance department.
Ensures the timely completion of daily production activities in each area of the plant.
Ensures effective employee relations.
Provides employee coaching and development.
Makes employment decisions.
Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
Work to continuously improve in all areas.
Manage departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to manager.
Assists the Plant Manager in properly addressing site environmental issues and implementation of regulatory requirements.
Assists in Accident investigations.
Manage department priorities.
Tracks absenteeism and timekeeping.
Carries out the Plant Manager's plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
Reviews production procedures and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operations of the division.
Reviews site safety procedures for enhancement, oversees the Safety Committee.
Stays up to date and ensures compliance with regulatory and safety procedures.
Works with Plant Manager to ensure daily completion of inbound receiving documents, drumming reports, bulk inventories and intercompany transfers from the site.
Submits purchase order requests for departmental needs.
Monitors site security plan.
Assists with administration of drug screening program for plant personnel (pre-employment, periodic, random, etc.
)
Completes performance reviews.
Responsible for oversight of warehouse upkeep and repairs.
Responsible for insuring that employees use safe practices as specified by Chemsolv's employee manual.
Ensures proper PPE is being worn at all times.
Supervises shipping and receiving including bulk shipments.
Responsible for testing and inspection of bulk vessels in accordance with federal DOT requirements.
Responsible for tank farm upkeep and repair.
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred
5 - 8 years' supervision experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution setting required.
3 - 5 years' experience in a production environment required.
Previous quality management experience a plus.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written format.
Ability to prioritize and delegate work
