*Position Summary*
Must have proficient knowledge of the residential construction trade, and must be able to cut, fabricate and install/build wooden or aluminum and other structures according to specifications.
This job entails working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional building infrastructure and products with precise workmanship.
A Lead Carpenter should be able to work with little or no direct supervision, follow all health and safety protocols (OSHA and VOSH) and have the ability to prioritize project phases to stay within contractual timeframes.
The ideal candidate will have superior knowledge of residential construction practices, processes, materials and safety procedures; as well as residential construction experience commensurate to a Lead position.

*Essential Duties & Responsibilities*
* Read blueprints, drawings, sunroom manuals and sketches to fully grasp requirements
* Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
* Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.
g.
fiberglass) according to measurements
* Build sunrooms, decks, walls, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
* Lay out flooring, roofing and walls ensuring they are level and compatible
* Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
* Install trim, interior/ exterior doors
* Erect sunrooms, construct screened porches, decks, and any other home renovation/ remodeling pertaining to the residential field
* Report any major repairs and problems to the immediate supervisor
* Coordinate equipment and vehicle repairs with outside vendors
* Cooperate with project management to complete projects in a timely fashion and within budget
* Daily job reports/logs; upload to Buildertrend daily
* Conduct daily inspection job site to eliminate hazards
* Maintain a neat, safe jobsite
* Wear proper PPE and ensure coworkers and other trades on the job are doing the same - working in a safe manner according to standard safety practices.
* Complete time card daily; record time accurately.
