Job # ET23145 Job Title Field Services Technician Office Location Roanoke, VA; Norfolk, VA; GA; TX Business Function Industrial Systems Sales Territory, if applicable N/A Department Technical Services Port Solutions Metals General Role Description Install, maintain, commission, and provide warranty support for assigned projects while meeting project schedules and performance criteria Role Accountabilities - Install, upgrade, and maintain electrical and automation equipment at assigned field locations - Configure hardware and software components after installation - Test and troubleshoot electrical and automation equipment, including AC and DC drives - Manage site schedule, informing and coordinating personnel to adhere to all site procedures and regulations as assigned, escalating issues to appropriate manager - Assess project requirements to ensure work scope is safely executed - Resolve potential and identified issues based on testing, in coordination with vendors - Identify new, site specific opportunities through communication with clients and recommend appropriate solutions to management - Train client personnel on system maintenance procedures and/or system operation to ensure optimum performance and minimum downtime - Train associates in specific areas of technical expertise when identified by management as a function expert - Provide site and/or technical service status to colleagues, clients, and management - Maintain current safety qualifications appropriate to the assigned tasks and adhere to both Company and client safety - requirements - Document installations, repairs and problems identified during commissioning, technical service and warranty support - Maintain tools and equipment used during service calls - Ensure proper safety equipment is available and in good working condition, as assigned - Comply fully with all Company commissioning procedures and checklists General Employee Accountabilities - Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager - Give manager best advice - Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified - Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager - Exemplify Company Core Values: Integrity, Client Focus, Team Orientation, and Personal Commitment - Comply with all Company policies, practices, and procedures and all regulations and laws - Recommend viable improvements proactively - Ensure effective utilization of business tools and processes Minimum Qualifications - Associate degree in electrical engineering technology, industrial electricity, mechanical engineering technology; or Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) or Bachelor of Science (Engineering) or related field, or equivalent via education and/or work experience - 4 years’ industrial experience in installation or maintenance of electrical equipment, including VFD drives - Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility - Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts - Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills - Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills and appropriate attention to details - Ability to work in outdoor environments in high and low temperatures - Ability to lift 50 lbs.
on a regular basis - Ability to work standing for long periods of time on hard surfaces - Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word - Availability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 75% of the time, often with limited notice Preferred Qualifications - 3 years’ experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment - Demonstrated experience working with international clients and field service personnel - Demonstrated experience in the metals, material handling, paper, or general industries Link to TMEIC Corporation website: https://www.
