Job Description
This is a 2nd shift position with start time between 2 and 4PM ET.
Primarily responsible for assistance in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes for manufacturing of night vision power supplies.
Including but not limited to: optimization of manufacturing processes, implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination), review/disposition of circuit board assemblies and assemble power supplies, and training production employees to improve work processes and product quality, work to minimized or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory and production issues.
A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment.
Also have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Six-Sigma tools to benefit the organization and customers.
Additionally, the candidate will be versed in Lean tools and their application to reduce waste.
This is a hands-on engineering technician position.
The individual can expect to spend >70% of their time engaging directly with the factory teams on the shop floor to be most effective.
Candidate will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.
) or related work experience
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical abilities
Trouble-shooting and or problem diagnosis skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
Proficiency working with a team
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience training others
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures
Available/ willing to work 2nd shift (start time between 2PM and 4PM); 9/80 work schedule.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with review/inspection of circuit boards
Soldering experience
Experience writing MS Access queries
Proficiency with statistical analysis software: Mintab, JMP, SAS
Six Sigma certification
Ability to support the organizational culture and build morale
