Job Description
The position of Engineering Technician describes an individual with a minimum of an ASEET degree or 10 years of experience in machine repair and support of industrial technologies with an expertise working on High Vacuum Systems.
This person is responsible for leading the diagnosis of advanced machine failure and expediting repairs in cooperation with skilled trades staff (hourly and salary).
A secondary set of responsibilities requires this person to continually investigate spare equipment components, electronic, mechanical, pneumatics, process fixturing, etc, and acquire support spares, documentation updates and transfers.
The acquired spares will be tracked and maintained within the AMMS database and storage area.
Required skills consist of a knowledge of industrial electronics, high vacuum electronics/pumps, schematics, pneumatics, safety systems, and AMMS.
It is necessary that the Equipment Support Tech demonstrate leadership and good communication skills to lead or work with a team of technicians, and engineers of multiple disciplines.
The Equipment Support Tech works across the facility, interfacing with all process departments, supports maintenance groups, and purchasing/stocking.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Advanced responder to factory equipment troubleshooting.
Problem solves equipment issues directly or through maintenance staff.
Coordinate maintenance resources with engineering resources to solve equipment issues.
Identify risk of obsolescence of manufacturing equipment.
Procure spares and project parts.
Prepare and update supporting documentation.
Preventive Maintenance documentation and schedules.
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
“Team player”—able to work well with colleagues, internal customers and external vendors.
Qualifications
Required:
Associates of Applied Science in Electronics Technology (or similar) and 10 years of work experience in industrial technologies.
6 years of experience working with high vacuum systems
Knowledge of industrial electronics, high vacuum electronics/pumps, schematics, pneumatics, safety systems
Access, AMMS (Advanced Maintenance Management System), MS Office, MS Project, MS Windows, MS Visio.
Experience working in Union environment a plus (this is NOT a Union position)
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred:
Technical parts procurement, supervisory and project management skill.
