Kwest Project Management Intern Position Description Position: Project Management Intern Report to: Sr.
Project Manager Job Description Overview If you are looking to gain hands on experience in the field of Project Management, then Kwest Group’s internship program is for you! Project management interns will assist the senior project manager and project managers with estimating and project management support for multiple projects.
Project management interns will be individuals who are currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Additionally, they will have experience with CAD, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and have solid math and analytical skills.
What will you do? Travel to project sites as needed.
Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs for proposals.
Assist in the preparation of project setups.
Provide clerical support to the project management team.
Contact suppliers and subcontractors for quotes.
Schedule and assist in the management of subcontractors and suppliers.
Provide vendor support and solicitation for bids and ongoing projects.
Assist senior project manager and project managers in pricing bid documents.
Request accurate and timely reports from the project foremen, suppliers, and subcontractors assigned to all projects.
Represent Kwest Group in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with customers, employees, and the public.
What do you need to be successful? Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
Current experience with CAD.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
Effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
Solid math and analytical skills.
Ability to schedule and complete tasks without direct supervision.
Progression Project management interns may be offered subsequent internship periods based on performance during their initial or current internship period.

Our program gives you the opportunity to develop as a professional in your desired field.

It is critical to have the ability to relate well to others or have “people skills.
” As a Kwest team member you may be asked to interact with clients and vendors but will definitely interact with your co-workers and managers.
It’s important to be able to build and maintain relationships and be the kind of person team members want in the office with them every day.
Time Management.
It’s up to you to organize your time and produce results based on your discussions with your manager and the priorities of your team.
Initiative.
Your supervisor will have many tasks that will require their attention and will not be able to give step-by-step direction for every task.
Our interns are expected to take the opportunity to act, take charge of their time and assist others with their work, when needed.
Collaboration.
Our interns will need to possess the ability to communicate and relate well to others, while obtaining the capacity to work with others toward a common goal.
As part of our team, you will need to explore and understand your own strengths and weaknesses to understand how you can best contribute, as well as be aware of how you can bring out the best in others.
Know your goals for your time with us.
You will have a specified number of months with Kwest, consider what you want to achieve, learn, and experience.
Clarity of purpose can lead to others helping you get there, or your supervisor giving you special projects to work on.
In return, Kwest Group will offer the following benefits to our Interns: Flexible Schedules.
After discussion with your direct supervisor and the Human Resources department, your schedule will be agreed upon, but is flexible with discussion and approval from your supervisor.
Paid Holidays.
All team members are eligible for eight (8) hours of holiday pay beginning with their first day of employment.
To be paid for a holiday, team members must work their last scheduled workday before and after the holiday.
If a holiday falls on a non-scheduled workday, the workday preceding or following the holiday will normally be observed, as advised by management.
Management reserves the right to adjust the observance day.
Kwest Group recognizes the following days as paid holidays: New Year’s Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Day Christmas Day If eligible, 401(k).
All team members of Kwest Group who have worked at least ninety (90) days and are at least 21 years old may make contributions to the 401(k) plan.
As a new hire, you are eligible on a quarterly basis after completing 90 days of service.
As per the plan document, new hires have an automatic deferral of 5%.
A 401(k) plan allows team members to make contributions to their own retirement account.
Kwest’s 401(k) program enables team members to save money for retirement through a pre-tax or post-tax savings plan.
Designed as a long-range financial tool, team members may elect to invest in any of the investment funds.
The company includes very generous matching contributions of 4% on the first 5% that you elect to defer.
Overtime.
All non-exempt team members will be paid one and one-half (1.
5) times their regular rate for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in one workweek.
Hours for which a team member is paid but for which he or she does not actually work (such as holidays, sick leave, vacation, etc.
) are not counted as hours worked for computing overtime payments.
