Position: Concrete Finisher
Report to: Concrete Crew Leader
Wage & Benefits
$30.
00/hour with 90-day and annual evaluations.
Weekly pay.
40 – 60 hours a week.
Overtime pay (time and a half) after 40 hours.
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Hospital Confinement, Accident and Critical Illness insurance coverages begin on 61st day of employment.
401k with 4% match.

Job Description Overview Team members classified as Concrete Finishers will be required to smooth and finish concrete surfaces to specified texture and depth.
Concrete Finishers must be capable of setting forms, edging, and bullfloating.
Concrete Finishers will report to the Concrete Foreman, while also taking direction from the Site Foreman.
Team members will closely interact with other trade individuals on site.
Responsibilities Pour and spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency by using rakes, shovels, hand or power tools and floats.
Use a float to bring water to surface and produce a soft topping.
Remove rough and defective spots from concrete surfaces by using a power grinder or a chisel and hammer.
Use straightedge, float, or power screed to flatten, smooth and form freshly poured concrete.
Patch holes with new concrete or epoxy compound.
Apply hardening and sealing mixes to cure concrete services.
Strengthen concrete by installing reinforcement rods.
Use edging tools, jointers, and straightedges to sprinkle joints and edges and mold expansion joints.
Inspect forms for appropriate structure and set to chosen pitches.
Ability to direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete and set forms.
Set forms to suitable elevation.
Prepare bases and install support materials.
Ability to properly cut joints and grooves to ensure smooth and level concrete.
Compress concrete by using power equipment.
Use power tools, wets and rub the concrete with appropriate stone to ensure clean finish.
Education and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 5 years of concrete finishing experience or completion of apprenticeship program Must be able to pass a pre employment drug screening, and if offered a position, any random drug screening if randomly selected.
Must attend all mandatory safety meetings and participate in discussions with the work crew and any safety personnel on site.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
The average work week would consist of 5 ten-hour days, but schedule will be dictated by project needs.
Must be able to work out of town, sometimes out of state, and for lengths of time, such as the job would dictate.
Ability to read understand measuring and leveling tools Ability to follow direction, but be able to self-supervise, when needed Must be able to compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Working Conditions Travel from site to site will be required.
Work environment will normally be an active construction site.
Exposure to dust, noise, high heat, extreme cold, and rain should be expected.
Employee must be physically able to perform repetitive motion and heavy lifting.
Must be able to maintain effective audio and visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned Physical Demands Must wear all employer-mandated personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vests, and safety-toed work boots.
Other PPE may be required from time to time depending on special safety concerns.
All PPE will be provided by the company at no cost to the employee, other than safety Must be able to hear with or without the use of a hearing device and clearly see at least 30 feet with or without the use of corrective vision Must be able work while wearing a respirator if Alternate standing and walking on uneven terrain surfaces, such as hillsides, muddy and icy soils, and other working surfaces.
Safe negotiation of all types of surface conditions will always be required.
Bending, squatting and kneeling will be required frequently during a workday.
The employee must be able to differentiate and / or identify colors.
Must have knowledge of occupational hazards in this field and standard safety practices.
Must be able to pass the 10 Hour OSHA testing and first aid – CPR requirements before starting work.
Within one year, employee must be able to obtain OSHA 30-hour status.
