Trane in Virginia is hiring a Construction Site Superintendent! This position is eligible for a Remote schedule and requires 80% travel to local construction job sites, candidates should be located within the greater Richmond/Roanoke area.
This is a critical role on our team, and we are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of & field experience with Mechanical/Electrical Systems, Design and Installation and/or relevant experience with BAS Systems.
This role will have responsibilities encompassing field supervision and project management support.
SUMMARY The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for all daily project activities as well as project financials, schedule creation, documentation administration, implementation of designs, management of subcontractors, and daily customer interface for all assigned projects.
You will lead the project team through all facets of the project and will operate as the established point of contact for stakeholders.
The Construction Site Superintendent manages a portfolio of projects that often require travel and overnight stays.
Our projects often include 1st and 2nd shift work and sometimes require third shift activities.
They also may contain both smaller and larger multi- building or complex construction projects.
The Construction Site Superintendent is knowledgeable on current job market and pricing strategies and has the ability to support sales functions with developing scope.

Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.
Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.
Financially manages all aspects of projects including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost / revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, applied cost, and oversees preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.
Examines and reviews contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
Utilizes properly qualified subcontractors, oversees subcontractor RFQ process, awards subcontracts, manages subcontractor execution, and collaborates with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, project meetings, billing expectations and project safety.
Responsible for change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.
Records parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.
REQUIREMENTS Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management Degree preferred and 5+ years of project management experience required.
Experience with Project Schedules / Procore PM Construction Software Ability to manage a small team plus subcontractors.
Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Up to 80% travel to local construction job sites required.
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure Must be able to operate a vehicle using a seat belt safely and legally.
Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction.
Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands.
Must be able to reach your hands over your head.
Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs.

Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb.
