JOB
Performs manual work in a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects, collecting refuse, performing general grounds keeping duties, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Work is performed under the close supervision of the Streets Crew Supervisor.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential FunctionsOperates a variety of mowers and equipment in grass cutting and trimming operations; operates weed eater and leaf blower.
Cuts, trims, and removes shrubs and trees from Right of Ways, sidewalks, and roadways; collects and removes leaves.
Collects garbage, bulk items, dead animals, hazardous materials, and recycling; empties refuse containers.
Removes debris and trash from City properties and streets.
Assists in cleaning and maintaining sanitation trucks and grounds keeping equipment.
Assists in the set-up of seasonal events and activities by preparing and hanging signage, hanging and removing lights and decorations, etc.
Assists with snow removal and ice control; mixes salt; spreads salt on sidewalks.
