The ideal candidate for this role within the Renewable Energy field will have an electrical engineering background with experience in Electrical System and Power Conversion Design, Control Hardware Design, and/or Grid Regulation.
The candidate should also have a passion for Renewable Energy.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Analyze power circuit protection and coordination.
Develop and execute subsystem and component validation test plans.
Work with suppliers, manufacturing, and services teams to clarify the technical aspects of the design.
Test and qualify components for production, resolving issues as needed to maintain excellent product quality.
Assist senior engineers with the development and implementation of new designs and continuous improvements.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience in electrical distribution, control system design, and power electronics.
Desired Skills:
Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems clearly.
Utilizes a structured approach to problem solving and learning agility.
Ability working in project teams in an international environment.
Approximately 3-5 years experience in an electrical engineering field (co-op or internship included).
An understanding of instrumentation and measurement of power converters.
Familiarity with Arc Flash analysis and testing (EasyPower or SKM).
Familiarity with wind turbine or photovoltaic system technologies
Familiarity with power electronics and control systems.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
