SUMMARY
Summit Materials is looking for an Asphalt Nuclear Density Technician to play a critical role in our quality product process.
This position will provide technical product support to our internal teams, as well as our customers.
Performing adequate testing and inspection to guarantee a quality asphalt pavement product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct sampling and testing as outlined by Virginia Department of Transportation [VDOT] and contractual project requirements.
Efficiently and effectively report all test results to the Quality Control Manager and required parties as needed or directed.
Manage and maintain all testing equipment and resources.
Maintain and manage technical files and records, as required.
Support the overall efficiency of our quality program.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
One to Three years of technical study or construction experience in a related field, preferred.
VDOT Asphalt Field Level II and Nuclear Safety certifications are preferred.
The above certs are required for the longevity of this position; training and certification support will be provided in-house to support candidates that do not possess these qualifications.
Ability to travel for education and training purposes.
Ability to accurately communicate the English language; both verbal and written.
Valid Driver’s License is required, along with the ability to meet company MVR Policy expectations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary certifications to uphold this position.
Fluency and knowledge in algebra.
Strong ability to work effectively with others when communicating and problem solving.
Ability to safely stand for long periods, stoop, bend, and lift / carry up to 100lbs, with support.
Vision requirements include reading numbers and observing details within the work environment.
Applicants must be 21 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle and 20 years of age for all other vehicles; valid driver's license and company approved driving record is required if authorized to drive either a company or personal vehicle for business purposes.
