gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Performs preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the institution and maintains buildings and structures through maintenance, repair, construction, and replacement of components.
Maintains inventory through planning and purchasing, and responds to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS).
Supervises inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility.
May respond to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis.
May assist in other areas of Building and Grounds department, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, plumbing, electronics, or outside maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of all aspects of carpentry, building construction, masonry, tools, blueprints, materials and measurements.
Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
Ability to estimate materials and cost.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications Training, certification, or license in related trades.
Commercial Driver's License.
Additional experience in any of the following: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Vehicle or Equipment Repair, Locksmith, Painting and Electronics.
Correctional experience.
Skills in the use of tools of the trade.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook or preventative maintenance programs.
